Lawrence Applebaum

Poet Lawrence Applebaum is a native New Yorker and lover of the city. As a gifted child, he attended Parsons School of Design at age 14. Lawrence is a collagist and painter as well as a published photographer. He is a four-time Pushcart Prize nominee. His essay “Flaming Redhead,” about Lucille Ball, can be read in the Lambda Literary Award-nominated anthology, My Diva: 65 Gay Men and the Women Who Inspire Them. His most recent work can be seen in Divining Divas: 100 Gay Men on their Muses. Lawrence is currently working on his first book of poems and a childhood memoir.
